Beginning in mid-elementary years writing requirements often shift toward more content, addition of detail, and an expected increase in overall length of responses. The push towards the "five paragraph essay" starts to become a common theme in schools. One useful app assists with "chunking" assignments into more manageable parts. It also assists with allowing students to practice grammar skills and provides a better organizational method as they write. Students with ASD, Dyslexia, diagnosed learning differences, and/or Executive Function challenges may find organizational tools useful when writing. Mapping and pre-writing challenges are useful but the next step, chunking work, also helps!
